TYPES OF MASSAGE OFFERED
Here you will find a description of the types of massage that I offer to help you get a better idea of what you want to achieve from your massage session. You can choose to try just one type, however, I find that most clients need a combination to fully address their wants and needs.
Swedish Massage:
Many diseases are the result of the body being overstressed. If you're looking for stress relief and relaxation this is the massage for you. Using a light to firm pressure, this session is aimed to relax the body and reduce muscle tension while improving circulation and helping the body to rid itself of toxins. A Swedish massage may also lower the blood pressure, reduce heart rate, and increase immune function.
Deep Tissue Massage:
If you have a chronic condition you may need a little more attention to a particular area and more pressure. Deep tissue is an intense massage session lending special attention to areas of chronic tension to relieve pain and trigger points ("knots") in the affected muscles.Neuromuscular Massage:
A very specific session focusing on one or two areas of the body to relieve chronic tension and trigger points as well as structurally realign the body. An excellent treatment to help injured muscles to heal properly from strains/sprains, whiplash, and low-back injury - even if the injury happened several years ago. Neuromuscular massage will also help reduce and maybe even eliminate symptoms of many common ailments such as: headaches, arthritis, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, tennis/golfer's elbow, plantar fascitis, shin splints, and frozen shoulder.
Pre-natal (Pregnancy) Massage:
During pregnancy the body secretes the hormones relaxin and extra estrogen, both of which cause the muscles, ligaments, and tendons to become more lax leading to increased soreness and more possibility of injury. The bones of the ribcage and pelvis are also shifting which can make for a very uncomfortable mom-to-be, especially if you have pre-existing conditions. Receiving massage during and after your pregnancy can alleviate pain and stress on the muscles and joints, increase blood flow and reduce swelling in the extremities, and relieve some of the stress and anxiety you may be feeling. Pregnancy massage should be performed by a massage therapist who is knowledgeable in this area as there are many considerations such as client positioning and areas that are to be avoided. Holly is certified in pregnancy massage and works with clients from their first trimester through their postnatal period.
Reflexology:
This practice is based on the fact that there are reflex points in your feet which affect certain areas of your body. By working these points the therapist rids that area of the body of toxins to relieve pain and tension and help that area to perform better. Reflex points affect many areas of the body including organs. Reflexology can be done by itself in a 30-minute session or added on to a full-body massage (the most popular choice).
Event Massage:
Increase the productivity and morale of your employees or give your party guests something special by treating them to a 10-20 minute chair or table massage. Massages are performed on a specially designed massage chair or table while the recipient is fully clothed.
Special Pricing: 1-2 Hrs. : $90/hr.
2-4 Hrs. : $80/hr.
4+ Hrs. : $70/hr.
